This Lake of the Woods cottage had a bump-out that was in dire need of repair and upgrade, as was the kitchen itself.
A non-loadbearing wall was removed between the dining room and kitchen area. A seldom used doorway to the hallway was closed off. A small pantry and a fridge alcove were removed also.
Espresso maple cabinets were chosen for the kitchen to contrast but complement all the natural cedar trim work within the cottage.
Real quartz slab counter tops, not the man-made quartz counter tops that most consumers are familiar with, but real quartz rock quarried and machined into a counter top are the focal point of this kitchen.
